The department

This practice provides sophisticated tax and legal advice to the world’s most successful people, from aristocracy to first, second and third generation entrepreneurs, industrialists, senior executives, celebrities, artists, philanthropists and other prominent figures.  With more wealth planning lawyers worldwide the firm has one of the, if not the, largest and most comprehensive private client practices in the world.

Our team is an integral part of our large wealth planning practice. Our approach is client centric and aims to provide a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach whether in the realm of tax and/or legal advice. Our role often involves structuring our clients' business affairs and family investments, investing in financial products, using trusts and other vehicles to structure investments, dealing with tax issues and legal planning arising from a myriad of events including but not limited to inbound and outbound investments, family migration, exit of investments or business, liquidity events and inheritance.

The role

The role is focused on advising and assisting an exceptional client base of ultra and high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and their families, family offices, trusts, ownership structures and philanthropic endeavours both locally and internationally. The role will involve:

  • Private client services, including tax advice, succession planning, trusts and estate administration
  • Tax structuring of cross border investments
  • Funds tax structuring
  • Advising on international tax matters and application of tax treaties
  • Immigration and tax residency advice
  • Advice establishing non-profit or charity organisations and philanthropic giving
  • Assisting on client files

We will also give you all the support you need to gain valuable professional qualifications if you are not yet qualified.

Given our multi-disciplinary approach in providing our clients with solutions, you will also get to collaborate with colleagues with an exceptional wealth of experience both in the Singapore office and other offices, and other practice groups.

Key skills and experience

  • NQ - 2 years PQE
  • Tax module studied at Law School is desirable
  • Admitted to practice in Singapore or in the process of qualifying to be admitted as such
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial aptitude
  • Analytical, organised and able to exercise initiative
