What are we looking for?

We are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join the Withers KhattarWong finance team.  This role will support the finance team in our Singapore office and at times will be demanding and fast paced so you will need to be an efficient worker who is organized, meticulous, self-motivated, resourceful and can prioritise, multi-task and work effectively under pressure.  You will also need to be an excellent communicator, a team player and have integrity to handle highly confidential information appropriately.

Areas of focus and responsibilities

  • In collaboration with HR process the monthly payroll runs
  • Preparation of payroll returns, including IR8 and IR21
  • Accounts payable supervision
  • Assist with billing queries
  • Assist with the month end and year end closes
  • Team member working on financial projects across the year including migration onto the PMS legal system, 3E
  • Support the Financial Controller for other ad hoc tasks

Technical skills and qualifications

  • 4-5 years of relevant accounting experience with an accounting qualification, preferably Chartered or a Certified Public Accountant
  • Preference for the candidate to have legal experience but not essential
  • Proficient in the use of excel and the use of basic functions
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal clients – must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build confidence, trust and respect amongst partners and managers
  • Strong service orientation with attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised and driven to achieve efficiency
  • Proactive, confident, tenacious, resilient and flexible
  • Ability to use your initiative to adapt, be comfortable with driving change and to think laterally
  • Logical thinker with good problem-solving skills  
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure
