What are we looking for?

The Technical Business Systems Manager will be responsible for leading a small team of Technical Business Systems Analysts whilst working closely with the Global Head of Business Systems. You will be expected to build strong relationships with the business; collaborating with all teams across the business to enhance and support the firm's existing systems, whilst also being a key resource for future upgrades and the delivery of roadmap system improvements.

The role

Due to the firm's growth and our recent 3E implementation the team is restructuring to better support the business going forward. This new role sits within the Business systems team, working alongside the Financial Systems Manager and the Development Manager.  You will lead the management, support and development of the technical business systems function and assist in both application and technical support of the firm's business systems (including Elite 3E, Elite Templates, Elite EDI, CreditForce, CRM & HRIS). You will work on developing, enhancing and supporting our finance and business applications alongside our finance systems and development teams with a focus on data integration, data extraction and transformation, and report and dashboard design.  

As a technical expert, the Technical Business Systems Manager will be key to facilitating and developing the use of systems and technology across the firm globally, promoting best practice and liaising with senior stakeholders to ensure business needs are met.

Areas of focus and responsibilities

  • Line management of a small team of Technical Business Systems Analysts
  • Design, development and testing of reporting and dashboard solutions (SSRS/Power BI)
  • Create, maintain and enhance data integrations across our various data stores (IntApp Integrate/SSIS)
  • Key technical resource for system enhancements and customisations
  • Analyse data contained in our databases to identify and fix data integrity issues
  • Working closely with the Finance systems and Development teams to ensure a joined-up approach to delivery across the wider team

Technical skills and experience

  • Experience working in a technical role in a global law firm
  • An understanding of the business implications of the applications in use in a legal environment
  • Excellent SQL skills, with experience of ETL processes
  • Experience of Microsoft reporting stack (SSRS & Power BI )
  • Some knowledge of the Elite 3E table structure and relational databases an advantage
  • As is experience working with the IntApp product suite (Integrate, Workflow, Open)

Interpersonal skills

  • Management experience with a willingness to mentor colleagues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be a confident communicator
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic with high professional standards
  • Highly self-motivated with an eagerness to learn new skills
  • Demonstrable team player, with a flexible and patient approach to work and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ablility to remain calm under pressure and prioritise work accordingly.
  • Ability to plan out and work on a number of tasks and projects simultaneously

The Essentials

  • 9.30am to 5.30pm but flexibility is a must
  • 12 week probation period
