The Role

We are looking for a bright, proactive and confident Senior L&D Advisor to join our busy Learning and Development team on a fixed term contract. Ideally you will have the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal clients to build confidence, trust and respect. Strong service orientation and attention to detail with a sense of urgency are essential. You will be organised and driven to achieve efficiency, with a commercial approach and a robust attitude.

The person in this role would support the Learning & Development team in the implementation and day to day coordination of the Learning & Development strategy of an international law firm. The role includes delivery and co-ordination of the professional skills training syllabus, facilitating career development programmes and supporting the International Head of L&D on various partner development programmes. Whilst this role is London based, a key aspect is supporting our APAC offices (Singapore, Hong Kong & Tokyo). 

You would be joining a highly collaborative and supportive L&D team that are passionate about delivering the best L&D service to the firm. The L&D strategy is constantly evolving and there are many new and exciting projects due to be developed and implemented in the coming year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally deliver various professional skills training courses to support staff and trainees – delivered both virtually and in-person
  • Facilitate at various career development programmes for associates and senior associates
  • Manage the Junior Associate Development Centre working with the L&D administrator to organise the programme – including a virtual reality element
  • Supporting the International Head of L&D, coordinate induction programme and leadership development for newly promoted partners, including a mentoring programme
  • Support International Head of L&D to coordinate development programme for junior equity partners
  • Where required, source and advise on external training providers to meet identified needs, time scales and budgets – this may include DEI training
  • Provide L&D support for the APAC region, communicate with APAC HR teams and regional management to understand any training needs
  • Conduct L&D induction for new joiners in APAC region, and support with APAC trainee programmes
  • Manage the training budget for the APAC region – conduct business planning meetings with regional management
  • Support the wellbeing committee with training requirements – including Mental Health First Aider training
  • Liaise with external coaches to arrange ad-hoc coaching requests for partners
  • Conduct coaching sessions for ad-hoc coaching requests for associates, senior associates and support staff (or source internal coaching if not personally qualified)

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • Training, coaching, MBTI and/or other psychometric qualifications (desirable)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant L&D experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience managing and delivering training in the L&D function of a professional services firm 
  • Experience of Vi Desktop LMS (desirable)
  • Strong IT skills

The Essentials

  • 9.30am to 5.30pm but flexibility is a must
  • 12 week probation period
