What are we looking for?

We are looking for a personable and accurate Billing Assistant to work within our friendly billing team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional services environment, ideally in a law firm, have experience with 3E, and have some AP knowledge.  You will inspire confidence and be an excellent communicator at all levels, while being organised and accurate with good attention to detail.

Areas of focus and responsibilities

  • Managing multiple billing Inbox's and prioritising billing tasks efficiently  
  • Processing  high volume monthly client bills via 3E
  • Processing Credit notes and assisting with bill amendments
  • Completing time transfers, splits other billing amendments.
  • Processing WIP & AR write offs
  • Completing client maintenance changes via In-app
  • Reconciling and recording of third-party invoices & statements.
  • Assisting the billing supervisor with complex billing queries
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules

Technical experience required

  • Education to minimum 5 GCSE (or equivalent) grade 'C' or above
  • A minimum of 2 years billing experience in a professional services firm, ideally a law firm, using Elite Enterprise or 3E or a similar accounting package
  • Some AP knowledge

  • Demonstrable team player, with flexible attitude and approach to work and work colleagues
  • Calm and works well under pressure
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours as and when required (particularly at month end peak billing time)

The Essentials

  • 9.30am to 5.30pm but flexibility is a must, particularly during billing week
  • 12-week probation period
  • 4 weeks' notice period
