The Role

We are looking for an organised and flexible newly qualified lawyer (avvocato) to join the global mobility team of our Private Client and Tax Department, in Milan. 

Key elements of the role include:

  • Proficiency in English (C1 required)
  • Prior experience of at least 1 or 2 years in the global mobility sector, immigration and tax. In particular, prior experience on investor visa applications, Italian citizenship, special tax regimes for in-bound workers (impatriati) and the Italian flat tax regime (neoresidenti).
  • Prior experience in assisting clients before the immigration authorities (such as consulates, questura and prefettura)

Additional key elements of the role:

  • Drafting of immigration, tax and legal documents and opinions
  • Producing accurate, high-quality work quickly and efficiently
  • Preparing first drafts of engagement letters; ensuring anti-money laundering requirements are adhered to and requesting necessary Know Your Client documentation
  • Providing effective and proactive communication with clients, colleagues, partners, legal staff and other support staff

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent academics (not less than 100/110)
  • Fluent Italian and English communication skills are mandatory (C1 level is a must)
  • Qualified avvocato
  • Ideally 1-2 years of experience in the global mobility and private client and tax sector
  • Prior experience on relocation of employees (posted workers directive) and Italian employment law (e.g. drafting of job offers and employment contracts) will be a plus
  • Enthusiastic and engaged attitude with excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Teamwork is vital together with the ability to work alongside colleagues in our overseas offices
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. Word & Excel)
