What are we looking for?

The Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing and testing enhancements to our data warehouse, reporting (SSRS) and dashboards (Power BI). You will be expected to build strong relationships with the business; collaborating with all teams across the business to enhance and support the firm's existing systems, whilst also being a key resource for future upgrades and the delivery of roadmap system improvements. 

The role

This role reports to the Technical Business Systems Manager and works alongside the Financial Systems Analysts, the Development Analysts, and the wider IT Team.  You will play a pivotal role in the technical business systems function working on developing, enhancing and supporting our finance and business applications alongside our finance systems and development teams with a focus on data integration, data extraction and transformation, and report and dashboard design.  You will also assist in both application and technical support of the firm's business systems (including Elite 3E, Elite Templates, Elite EDI, CreditForce, CRM & HRIS).

As a technical expert, the Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst will be key to facilitating and developing the use of systems and technology across the firm globally, promoting best practice and liaising with senior stakeholders to ensure business needs are met. 

Areas of focus and responsibilities

  • Design, development and testing of data warehouse (Star schema dimensional model), reporting and dashboard solutions (SSRS/Power BI)
  • Create, maintain and enhance data integrations across our various data stores (IntApp Integrate/SSIS)
  • Analyse data contained in our databases to identify and fix data integrity issues 
  • Key technical resource for business systems support, enhancements and customisations
  • Working closely with the Finance Systems and Development teams to ensure a joined-up approach to delivery across the wider team 

Technical skills and experience

  • Proven expertise in a technical role within a global law firm
  • An understanding of the business implications of the applications in use in a legal environment
  • Excellent SQL skills, with experience of ETL processes
  • Strong experience of working with business stakeholders to design and build business-facing reports and dashboards using the Microsoft reporting stack (SSRS & Power BI)
  • Some knowledge of the following from data, integration, technical, and product perspective is an advantage:
    • Elite 3E, Workspace, Workspace mobile, Templates (PMS)
    • SelectHR (HRIS)
    • Interaction (CRM)
    • Intapp Open, Integration Builder, Walls (Data creation/maintenance/flow/security)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be a confident communicator
  • Able to work with business stakeholders to elicit, document and understand complex business requirements, and to translate these into implementable technical solutions
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic with high professional standards
  • Highly self-motivated with an eagerness to learn new skills
  • Demonstrable team player, with a flexible and patient approach to work and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise work accordingly
  • Ability to plan out and work on a number of tasks and projects simultaneously

The Essentials

  • 9.30am to 5.30pm but flexibility is a must
  • 12 week probation period
